Beechworth Celtic Festival, 7th - 9th November 2014
Once again the Beechworth Celtic Festival is set to attract the crowds of Celtic lovers to Beechworth.
For the 20th year, North East Victoria’s annual salute to its Celtic heritage, the Beechworth Celtic Festival, will again be held on the weekend of 7th-9th November 2014. The festival is truly one of fun, entertainment and celebration in the Celtic spirit, and every year it turns Beechworth into a hub f colourful sights and lively sounds.
With an array of Celtic bands to excite the music lover and the displays of pipe bands to stir the passions, this famous weekend is a great reason to visit Beechworth. Ticketed live music venues will be located in its historic hotels and halls, with a free stage located in the heart of town. Demonstrations of traditional instruments like the Bodhran, a Celtic frame drum, & workshops for likes of the tin whistle & fiddle will offer unique learning opportunities.
Major events include the Gala Celtic Dinner on Friday evening at the Old Priory, a great-fun Ceilidh on Saturday afternoon, and the Community Concert on Saturday evening.
The Grand Parade is always a great family event. It will feature the firing of historical muskets, colourful floats, energetic dancers, national Celtic costumes and flags, & will culminate with the stirring massed pipe bands. The Celtic Market will offer something for everyone with food, traditional crafts, jewellery, face painting, clan information and more.
The Celtic Festival is a diverse event with something to offer every age group, so bring the whole family and create some fabulous Celtic memories together.
